Seneca Falls, N.Y. – Generations Bank announces their fundraising event, “Purchase with a Purpose” raised $3,068 to be donated to four local food pantries.

The event was held on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 11am-2pm. For every purchase made at participating local restaurants in Seneca Falls and Waterloo, Generations donated $1 to the cause. In addition to Generations’ support, in the spirit of the event, some of the participating restaurants generously made additional donations directly to the food pantry of their choice.

All money raised during “Purchase with a Purpose” was evenly distributed between the Seneca Falls Backpack Program, Seneca County House of Concern, Community Action Programs (CAP) in Waterloo, and Trevor’s Gift of Waterloo.

Since 2015, Generations Bank has organized a fundraising event to support local food pantries. From 2015-2019, Generations Bank organized and hosted “Taste & Tunes,” a food and drink tasting event with music from local musicians. In 2020 and 2021, due to the nationwide COVID-19 pandemic, Generations Bank organized “Purchase with a Purpose” since “Taste & Tunes” was not a viable option due to health safety concerns. Over a seven year period, through “Taste & Tunes” and “Purchase with a Purpose,” Generations Bank has raised a total of $20,931 to be split between each year’s beneficiaries.
